The Brains of Britain
What can we say out of over 300 teams across 7 regions with some of the worlds finest financial, legal and professional services brains OWB finished 2nd Regionally and 3rd Nationally in the LDC Charity Quiz - with former egghead Norm, physicist Stupot, Music afficiando DJ Joneseyboy, former Welsh Netball triallist Issy, ex-driving instructor Shari and Staffordshire junior indoor bowls Champion Wilko..we had the perfect balance of brains and brawn and outwit the best in the business.
Collecting our award Shari Bryan stumbled to the microphone commented "I love this Country, lets build a better world...could I get a glass of wine..."
In seriousness immense funds were raised regionally for Birmingham Childrens Hospital http://www.bch.org.uk/ if you're reading this Blog post do donate.

"I should have changed that stupid lock..."
"I should have thrown away the key,
if I'd have known for just one minute
I'd be locked in here after a wee.."
Shari is rescued by "Super-Steve the Shrewsbury Town fan" after being stuck in the loo. She still managed to fire out briefs (oo..er Ed!) to the design team from behind lock and key, theres commitment to the job (by...Ed, hee hee)

2010 Judging Panel Assignment
Had a fabulous day with Aspire4U, the Birmingham based Youth Training Community Interest Group, the team invited me to help Judge the marketing campaigns devised by the teams to market:
TALENT 2010 - Aspire4U's 5th Talent Event covering music, dance, fashion, comedy and more....
and
The NYAM Project - an exploration of Jamaican Heritage and consumption of Jamaican Food.
The campaign concepts were fantastic, both teams did live presentations covering the target audience, the strategy, the tactics and the results. Well done thanks for the invitation and I will be watching the outputs......

Shaz takes POLE
IN a major Midlands Karting Event last night our own Emerson Fitipaldi beat 52 blokes to win and get the fastest lap. "its all about GRIP" commented Shari "I like to take it HARD and FAST and then when the engine is really THROBBING I put my foot down and really go for it".
Shari has long been a top driver (pictured here in What Car magazine as female Rally Driver of the Year), she is never happier than ASTRIDE a PULSATING engine....
Find our more about our Motor Racing Pedigree by visiting Nick Leason Racing http://www.nickleason.co.uk - we are working with Nick to develop commercial sponsorship and brand marketing initiatives. CAll Andy or Shari to talk about opportunities for your business.

The Tour is NOW and the exclusive shirt is modelled here
Although we thought it was tomorrow, its not its Thursday!! We're ready to ride like the wind, the Peugeot Camargue is oiled and purring, the water bottles have some very special energy-giving and smile-inducing secret formula alcotonic super-juice and the weather looks foul.
Remember this is for Birmingham Childrens Hospital so any final support would be most welcome at https://www.bmycharity.com/V2/owb

From Zombies to Sustainability hear it all at FFT
Fantastic Forum for Tomorrow http://www.fbe-org.co.uk breakfast this morning, Lorna (new Chair) drove a Pecha-Kucha http://www.pecha-kucha.org/ session, where fast-paced presentations on topics of choice are delivered - Jo, Building Services Design, did a cracker on her love of Zombies, Ben and Rachel gave a tip top overview on Turley Associates and Lorna told us how she got into blogging and social media for BPN. Wow! It was super fast-paced, fun, highly engaging and judging from the reaction by everyone afterwards went down a storm. Well played Lorna - here's to making Forum for Tomorrow West Midlands the best there is....

Norms Big Weekend in Paris...he did take the missus really
April 14th
Arrive in Paris, usual Paris stuff...Louvre, Notre Dame, Arc Du Triomphe..... Almost attacked by ravenous, rabid french dog (CIMG1239.jpg)
April 15th
More paris stuff... Eiffel tower, Pompidou Centre, Sacre Soeur Cathedral and a slap up meal of fois gras and goose guts.
April 16th
Flights home cancelled, no eurostar, no coaches...flights rebooked for Monday 19th....rest of day spent cycling round Paris in typical tourist fashion. Sadly, poor back brakes don’t allow for skids
April 18th
Flights for 19th cancelled...spent 5 hours in Gare Du Nord train station to book tickets to Calais. Lent old American woman my phone to ring her family....phone returned, covered in sweat.
April 19th
Day of leisure...breakfast of 6 pain au chocolade under Eiffel tower, more loutish bicycle based behaviour
April 20th
Train from Paris to Calais with 1 hour stop in the middle of nowhere....arrive at Calais, jump in a taxi to the port to join a long queue for ferry tickets. Finally get tickets, for the Cargo ferry (expecting to have to hold a chicken on crossing). Arrive in Dover, coach to London to stop over at girlfriend’s dads.
April 21st
Coach from London, taxi to the Royal Town of Sutton Coldfield. Arrive home 5 days late and a bucket full of euros worse off.
